Let us look at his interview below and see what he told us about his journey!

Could you please introduce yourself to others?

Hi guys, I am Palaksh Jain. I am pursuing a master's degree from ESSEC Business School in strategy management of international business. My background is in commerce itself. I did my undergraduate from the University of Delhi, I have a daily business, and my long-term goal is to expand my family business. I did my internship working in Eva and Harley, and that's the most of it about me.

Why did you choose ESSEC France?

The first and most important thing for me was France plus Singapore, and I wanted to do something different. Many people go to London, but I didn't want to be a part of that crowd. I wanted to try something new. I knew that France would be more difficult, but that is where the fun is, and I can push myself and go out of my comfort zone. I want to return to India to grow my business after completing my degree and working for a few years.

Why not ISB and stay in India to build the network there? Why France?

When I say I want to build on my family business, I don't mean that I'll only do that in India. I need to take it globally, beyond these boundaries. And since my family business is in the textile industry, Europe is one of the best markets for textile, so I chose to go to France.

What is it like for Indians to be far from their family? What is it for you?

This program is the first time I'm going far from my family, and yes, it's not that easy. You realize the importance of family and relationships. You miss your family in the evening, but it kind of settles in after a month or two, and your friends become your first fallback option.

What is teaching like at ESSEC?

In India, the teaching is more theoretical than practical, and at ESSEC, it is different. You don't have to do just written exams, because they have more practical exams as well.

What piece of advice you would like to give to future candidates?

Start your preparation early. Get out of your comfort zone because you'll only then have new experiences and challenges to grow and push yourself beyond them. Take the help from professionals. It highly affects your application process positively!
