Could you tell me more about yourself?
I am Claudia, and I have a degree from Inholland University of Applied Sciences in supply chain/logistics and economics. I graduated in 1998, and between then and 2010, I worked with Nike. Before moving to the United Kingdom, I initially started working in Hilversum. I have worked as a senior project manager at Nike. In 2010, I decided to resign from Nike and join my family company, Loon- en grondverzetbedrijf Bram Bakker, Netherlands, where I was responsible for leading operations and finance projects.
What prompted you to do an MBA?
As a graduate of the University of Applied Science, I want to evolve into consulting. I want to first develop the family business by working as a senior project manager and then probably consulting before I reinvent the family company. So basically, I need to acquire the knowledge and skills first to develop the family business and then will move to work in consulting.
Why the Global Executive MBA?
This program is ranked as the best and the schools, Columbia, and LBS, are my dream schools. The only question I had before applying to this program was the cost and the time required, but given the quality of teaching, the network, and the recognition of the degree, I was impressed. What I appreciate a lot about this program is the international aspects, and it is in the UK, where I can create a network that is crucial to the program, and I have never been to the UK.
What piece of advice would you like to give for this program?
The first thing that I would consider is that you should have a knowledgeable background and life to adapt to this program. The second thing is to aim for the best and be surrounded by the best. Before joining the MBA Center, I thought of applying only in my country. When I met Dr Hubert, he helped me realize that I should consider from a broader perspective. They are one of the best test prep centres in Europe, and with the help of their quality services and guidance, I managed to get accepted to my dream school. I would highly recommend getting help from professionals like the MBA Center.
Thank you for your time Claudia, it was nice to have this session with you!
