Could you please tell us more about yourself?
My name is Antoine. I'm Lebanese. I am a graduate of ENSAIA, from where I had done my master's in science. Then I worked for Lactalis group as a production engineer, followed by working as an R&D packaging development manager at Vandemoortele. Outside of work, I enjoy football and technology.
Why an MBA?
I have met many engineers who move forward in their careers, get training, etc. After working for some time, I felt that I needed to move forward, and an MBA would allow me to grow and give me additional education in management. That's the first thing, and the second thing is that coming from Lebanon, I have worked in Belgium and France, and I want to get international exposure and target the US or UK, where I can generate more income.
Why IMD? Did you consider any other school?
IMD was not my initial target school; INSEAD was my target. Unfortunately, even though I received the best classes and guidance, I couldn't make it to INSEAD as I didn't get a high enough score. After talking to Dr Hubert, I realized that I already had over six years of experience and leadership training, and I could consider IMD, so I applied and was accepted. After attending classes at IMD, I am delighted and know that IMD will help me grow personally and professionally.
Any advice that you would like to give to future applicants?
First of all, don't be stubborn. You have many options for a top MBA in Europe, such as IESE, LBS, HEC, IMD, INSEAD, etc. And no matter what program you get, you will indeed get your dream job in the end. Secondly, take enough time, I only had three months to prepare and struggled with the score, but I managed to get into a suitable program with the help of Dr Hubert and the MBA Center team. Surround yourself with the best
It was such a nice conversation Antoine, thanks a lot for taking the time.
