Meet Aymeric, our student of the month and a very bright and talented student with an excellent academic background who got accepted to the MIT Sloan School of Management. He was born and brought up in France and speaks English and French. He has a very technical background, and he's pretty good at maths and science. It was easy for him to get a good GMAT score, being good at maths. After working for a few months under the guidance of Dr Hubert, he successfully managed to get a GMAT score of 750, and that's pretty high. His skills lie in nuclear safety, submarine operations, media training, intelligence analysis, etc. After completing his master's in engineering and maths, he worked as a navy officer in France. He wanted to work in the private sector but had no experience in business or management. That was when he decade to get an MBA degree and got in touch with Dr Hubert. After his acceptance to MIT Sloan School of Management, we had a quick interview session with him to discuss his journey, background, GMAT preparation, the application process, etc. Let us look below to learn everything that an MBA aspirant might need!

Aymeric, tell us something about yourself?

 

was born in the north of France. Being exceptionally good at maths, I decided to apply to the best schools in France, where I wanted to complete a master's in science and engineering. During my studies, I was also a part of 6 months program in the United States in Engineering and Maths. 

 

Why an MBA?

 

As you can see, I have worked as a navy officer in France, and my training is mainly technical. You can imagine the process of getting into a master's as it is very tough to apply in the private sector. I don't know anything about finance, marketing, business, management, etc., so I needed to transition and get a degree that would allow me to do so. I targeted the US school as I needed a complete 2-year program and not one year that the European schools give.

 

Why MIT?

 

Well, the answer is obvious. I got accepted to several schools, namely Columbia, NYU, and MIT. But MIT is the school that attracts me. First of all, I want to switch to management and consulting, and MIT is one of the best ones in the US for this. Secondly, the location, as I like Cambridge and its culture, art, and everything. And last of course, the quality of life in Massachusetts, Cambridge. I can't wait to start my master's there. 

 

What advice would you give to someone who wants to apply for a top MBA?

 

Take your time as it's a long process. I started a bit earlier and successfully got the GMAT score of 750 with the help of the MBA Center and Dr Hubert. He is exceptionally talented in this field, having many years of experience. I was so glad after meeting him. So, I would advise working with the best, and you can also make it to your dream school. I heard a lot from my friend about Dr Hubert and was amazed by his quality of work when I met him.
