In a month, a new academic school year will start for every student across the world. However, Covid-19, the virus that stroked the world two years ago is still in activity with new variants going around. To counterattack this virus while still being open, business schools came up with various health measures to ensure the security of their staff and students.
Specifications for coursework
For this new academic school, the coursework will be done in two ways. Some classes will be done online while others will be on campus. As such, business schools are now offering a mix of in-person and virtual learning. Some schools decided to offer rotating schedules for students in order to limit the number of people per class for each course. Other schools prefer to conduct online classes to avoid people being in contact with each other. As such, the courses will be adapted by each professor for them to be fitted to an online platform. The class schedule will be similar, except for the fact that students will have the possibility to stay at home to take their online classes.
Face-to-face measures
For the business schools that decided to have some of their classes in-person, strict face-to-face measures will be implemented. As such, an increase in cleaning and sanitation regimen will be demanded with the use of a mandatory mask for students and professors alike in the classrooms and the faculty in general. The mask can be removed when students and professors are eating, however, it will be the only exception. Additionally, students' desks will be placed apart from each other in order to respect social distancing measures. On the same note, any exchange of classroom supplies will be banned to prevent the virus from spreading. For some schools, Plexiglass separators will be put in place.
The option of studying abroad
So far, for this new academic school year, study abroad will be either canceled or postponed for most business schools. It was decided that instead of asking for an experience abroad, other ways will be found and proposed to replace these trips abroad such as a local excursion or some simulated trip abroad. Some business schools decided to keep that possibility open with students that are vaccinated and as long as they are respecting the health measurements from the country they want to go in. Traveling is still considered dangerous because of the passage in airplanes and the change of country.
Covid-19 measures
The goal of business schools nowadays is to minimize the spread of coronavirus as much as possible. To do so, it is required for every student to undergo health screening surveys and Covid-19 tests weekly when they have classes on campus. Every business school is encouraging students as well as staff to engage in frequent sanitation while maintaining social distancing. The first concern for these schools is the well-being of those working and studying between their walls. To do that, the entries for buildings have been restricted with only one allowed entry for each construction. Moreover, specific physically distanced study spaces allow students to study in comfort.
