Antoine, June 2016, Student of the Month, Master of Business Administration INSEAD

A French citizen, Antoine, with years of experience in the telecom sector, wanted to have more international exposure, network, and experience in the business world. That's why he got in touch with us. He has a masters degree in management from a telecom business school and he currently works as a B2B Business Development Manager at Easynet Global Services. To broaden his knowledge in the business world, he wanted to get into a top B-School and we are so happy to know that he got acceptance from one of the best b-schools in Europe, INSEAD. In a recent interview with him, we talked about his journey in detail, and here’s what he said in the interview!.

Could you please introduce yourself?

My name is Antoine. I am French and have a master's in management from a telecom business school. My experience is mainly in the telecom sector, and I'm now in charge as a B2B business development manager at Easynet Global Services.

Why an MBA?

I indeed have a background in management and business both, but I wanted to broaden my knowledge in business. Even though I have travelled to 40 countries since I was ten years old, all my careers have been in France. I believe that it's necessary for me to see the world, work with people from different backgrounds, and develop my network and credibility to get my dream job outside France.

Why INSEAD?

This question seems strange since INSEAD is the number one school in France and among the top 5 according to Financial Times rankings. When Dr Hubert and I were applying to schools, INSEAD wasn't on the list but rather top US schools. Though Dr Hubert supported and guided me in my GMAT preparation, my score of 680 was probably not enough to get me to my dream school in the US. When we were looking for another option, we found that the program's structure at INSEAD suited me well, so I chose it.

Any piece of advice for future applicants?

First of all, you need to know what you want exactly, and you should be open-minded. Today, I am studying at INSEAD, Singapore, and I am changing my life and career. Since it takes longer in the admission process, the second is to start the application process early, as it took me around a year. I would also recommend getting help from experts as it helps clarify in your head about the GMAT, essays, letters, etc. I'm delighted that I could make it with the help of the MBA Center.

Thank you for your time Antoine, it was nice to have this session with you!
