Could you tell us more about yourself?
My name is Alexandre, and I am Christie's post-war & contemporary arts director. Before this, I did my master's in finance and strategy at Sciences Po.
What prompted you to do an MBA?
It might sound surprising, as I am well paid to work as a director and do well in my career. I wanted more and could do better by acquiring additional knowledge in arts and other areas which an MBA can give me.
My objective is to gain more experience in the business world, have my own museum, and get investment banking and entrepreneurship knowledge. I believe that there is always more to do.
Why have you decided to apply to Stanford?
I have many reasons for this. First, it has one of the best entrepreneurship programs, and I was looking for schools that are entrepreneurship driven, in either North America or Asia and not forgetting the fantastic quality of life there. Finally, Stanford is a place where you find lots of industries and investors, and you get to explore and learn more and more.
What about the admission process?
The admission process was not easy for me. First is the application, and as I am not an investment banker or consultant, it was difficult for me to write my application in this tone. That is something Dr Hubert guided me with, which was really helpful in my application process. With the help of The MBA Center, I managed to submit a successful application.
The piece of advice you would like to give?
I was worried about the GMAT score, but I worked hard on the application process to compensate. You don't need to panic about anything. Give yourself a chance for everything you want, and you can do it!
Keep in touch with The MBA Center, and you can also make it to a top-tier B-school. All you need is a good strategy with the right method!
